A serial tech entrepreneur, Kimberly has led data science teams at early and mid-stage tech startups such as Eventbrite, Domino Data Labs, and NakedPoppy, where she was a co-founder and the Head of Product. Before transitioning to the private sector, Kimberly served as an United States Air Force Captain for 5 years, holding the chief data scientist position at the Pacific Air Force headquarters in Hawaii.
Kimberly spent most of her formative years learning to ski and mountain bike in the natural beauty surrounding Lake Tahoe. She currently resides in Marin County with her husband and two young daughters, where she surfs and runs the trails of Mt. Tamalpais with her weimaraner. She is passionate about shopping her values—scoping out and evangelizing innovative, fair, safe, and earth-friendly consumer brands that don’t sacrifice efficacy.
She holds a BS from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an MS in data science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She has been featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, has been a speaker at the Fast Company Innovation Festival, and was recognized as one of Inc. Magazine’s Female Founders of 2025.
Born in Kathmandu, Nepal surrounded by the Himalayan mountains, Yashi immigrated to the United States to study chemistry and environmental science. She credits an environmental policy course with opening her eyes to outdated chemical regulations.
She began her career in a lab, formulating and reformulating cosmetic products, before transitioning to the research side of R&D. At BeautyCounter, she worked as a Senior Research Chemist, pushing the company and industry towards a greater sustainability focus. In 2019, she earned an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.
Today, Yashi educates partners on sustainable product development strategies and advises product and engineering teams on data accessibility. Her expertise and passion have earned her recognition as a thought leader, including as one of Green Biz’s 30 under 30, as well as Inc. Magazine’s Female Founders of 2025.
Yashi resides in Los Angeles, where she enjoys hiking the trails of Laurel Canyon, practicing pilates, reading autobiographies, and curating Spotify playlists.
